Pediatric Occupational Therapist – Community Advantage Rehabilitation (CAR) – a division of LifemarkLocation: Bowmanville, ONSchedule: 12 hours/weekSign-on bonus: up to $5,000.00 available Overview Lifemark’s Home and Community Care division, Community Advantage Rehabilitation (CAR), is looking for Registered Occupational Therapists to provide services to pediatric clients in their school and homes within the community of Durham Region. The position can be flexible, with working hours ranging from part-time to full-time depending on your desired client caseload size. At CAR, we work with clients to advance their quality of life using best practices, innovation, and quality standards. Responsibilities Provide ministry funded, community-based Occupational Therapy services within the pediatric client’s (infant to 18 years) place of residence, private school, and/or through virtual services Conduct occupational therapy assessments (interview, standardized and informal assessment techniques) in areas such as fine motor, sensory, feeding, development, home safety, home modifications, equipment prescription, mobility, etc. Develop and implement best practice and evidence-based OT interventions in collaboration with clients/caregivers Assign patient care plans and provide supervision/monitoring of occupational therapy assistants when appropriate Communicate information effectively by educating clients/caregivers and linking to community resources when appropriate Complete funding applications as applicable Maintain current and accurate documentation related to assessment findings, care plans, progress and discharge summaries according to CAR, referral source, and COTO standards Opportunity to service private clients Requirements Registered Occupational Therapist with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (required) Experience in a community setting is an asset but new graduates are welcome Ability to work independently and as part of an inter-professional team Ability to prioritize, manage self-scheduling, and meet reporting deadlines Excellent oral, written and report-writing skills Proficiency with computers Strong interpersonal and organizational skills Reliable transportation is required Additional information Visit us at http://www.car-rehab.com Inclusivity and accommodations We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where people from all backgrounds can thrive.
