As a network engineer, you will be responsible for researching, designing, and implementing improvements to our network as well as handling advanced support issues and mentoring junior staff. Ultimately, you will be a key member of a team that is responsible for the functional management of our network and the resolution of network issues.Responsibilities:Design and deploy and support our enterprise network (LAN, WLAN, WAN, Wireless).Configure, install, and manage routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.Monitor network performance and integrity.Mentor team members on technical issuesMaintain complete technical documentation.Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalabilityExperience:Cisco switch administration: 5 years +Cisco router administration: 5 years +Cisco wireless administration: 3 years +Palo Alto firewall: 3 years +Requirements and Skills:Knowledge and experience required:Professional certification (e.g., CCNP, CCIE).Solid background in network administration and architecture.In-depth understanding of communication protocols (TCP/IP) and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF)Network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.Cisco Nexus and Catalyst SwitchesCisco wireless controllers and access points.In-depth understanding of network operating systems (Cisco IOS, PAN-OS).Advanced troubleshooting skills.Ability to work independently.Organizational and mentoring skills.Leading small projects.Knowledge and experience preferred:Wireless troubleshooting tools (ie. Site survey tools)Familiarity with the following would be beneficial:Network Monitoring with Entuity, DataDog, Cacti and SolarwindsITIL processesScriptingData CablingAPC UPSSoft Skills:Professionalism: an individual who is serious about what they do and willing to take the time to achieve a deep understanding of their craft.Always professional in talk and manner.Customer First Attitude: understanding who customer is and how to best serve themWorks well with the existing support group and contribute to the teams shared documentation library.Effectiveness and enthusiasm: wanting to contribute and can do attitude.Other:After-hours and weekend support and work is required with this position (smartphone provided).This is primarily an onsite position with work from home available 1 day per week.
