Leading employee owned civil design engineering firm is seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join their growing civil design engineering firm. Salary range is $125,000 – $160,000. Outpost Recruitment is excited to work with our client on this full-time permanent role.Responsibilities of Senior Civil EngineerThe successful candidate will join a dynamic team and provide innovative design, improve overall group performance and client service.Provide technical expertise in all aspects of civil design of linear infrastructure, specifically watermain, sanitary sewer and storm sewer design and road rehabilitation and improvements.Provide project coordination on municipal infrastructure projects for public sector clients as well as assist in the design, construction, and project management of a wide variety of projects including smaller and larger scale municipal infrastructure developments.Have hands-on involvement in preparing studies, designs, cost estimates, specifications, and contract documents.Actively participate in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, and contract administration for infrastructure projects, including involvement in business development and preparation of proposals.You will have significant interaction with Clients, Contractors, and Subconsultants.This position brings with it the potential for excellent career growth as you will be involved in many wide ranging and varied projectsCompleting assignments with minimal guidance from other Senior EngineersCoordinating Technicians, Technologists and Designers to ensure that contract drawings are accurately prepared and checked.Leading multi-disciplined projects and coordinating with internal subject matter experts.Coordinating Subconsultants’ activity on projects.Preparing and reviewing written technical reports including but not limited to feasibility studies, concept design, detailed design, and design criteria reports.Preparing contract documents and construction drawings.Performing project coordination tasks including communications with Clients, managing schedules, budgets, and reporting requirements.Achieving budget compliance on assigned engineering projects to meet financial objectives.Leading and Assisting with writing proposals to procure new projects.Executing projects in accordance with company guidelines and standards.Participating in scheduling, budgeting, tendering, and inspection.Acting as the primary contact for all project-related Client & Company Site Inspector communications.Providing mentorship and professional development to junior staff.Qualification of Senior Civil Engineer:Undergraduate degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institutionRegistered as a Professional Engineer with EGBC.20+ years of progressive experience in designing municipal infrastructure.PMI PMP &/or MMCD CA certifications would be an asset.NASSCO’s PACP, LACP, or MACP certification would be an asset.Experience in designing infrastructure projects in British Columbia.Trenchless design experience would be an asset.Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential employee or Client matters with integrity.Proven ability to liaise and manage Clients, Contractors, and other Consultants’ relationships.Superior planning and organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure.Committed team player and highly self motivated.Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in MS Office, including OneNote and SharePoint.Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel throughout Canada.Benefits:People come first, you will achieve support with education, mentoring, and growth opportunities you need to build an interesting careerAs an employee-owned firm, we create a clear internal growth path that can keep up with even the most ambitious professionals.A centrally located office that is easily accessible by transit.A flexible work environment that allows for a combination of working from home and in the office.Competitive salary and benefits, including a fitness allowance, company-matching pension program, and a parental leave top-up program.Ongoing support for your growth and development, including a formal professional development program, mentorship programs, training opportunities, and professional designation support.An on-site fitness centre accessible to all staff, with full amenities.An active Social Club that promotes social activities in and outside the office and offers subsidized tickets to local events.Ideal Candidate:Only candidates with authorisation to work in Canada will be considered.Please clearly highlight relevant work experience, project overviews and project scale ($) in your resume. #J-18808-Ljbffr
