The Anesthesia commitment will be 2 days per week, and every 2nd weekend on call. There are additional opportunities to work in the Emergency department or in Primary Care. New graduates are welcome and will be well supported by the local physicians and regional specialists. Kitimat General Hospital and Health Centre integrates acute care, residential care, public health and community health in one facility. The hospital contains 20 acute care beds, including 2 maternity beds. There is a regular rotation of visiting specialists from nearby Terrace and other parts of the province. Kitimat is a picturesque town situated at the head of the Douglas Channel, surrounded by rugged mountains, lush forests, and pristine waters. Known for its natural beauty and thriving industry, Kitimat offers a unique blend of outdoor adventure and economic opportunity. The town is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with a variety of recreational activities to enjoy throughout the year. The town's location along the coast also provides access to world-class fishing opportunities, with salmon and steelhead fishing attracting anglers from far and wide. In addition to its natural attractions, Kitimat is home to a thriving industrial sector, including a major aluminum smelter and a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility. This economic activity provides employment opportunities and supports the town's infrastructure and services. Responsibilities Provide Family Physician with Anesthesia services as part of the FP-Anesthetist role. Anesthesia commitment of 2 days per week and on-call every 2nd weekend. Potential opportunities to work in the Emergency Department or in Primary Care.
