Academic Coordinator, Nursing and Health Studies Base pay range: $57,316.00/yr - $102,977.00/yr The Faculty of Health Disciplines is currently recruiting for the position of Academic Coordinator for the Nursing and Health Studies program. This full‑time term position will end January 31, 2029 with the potential to become a permanent appointment. Responsibilities Service to the Community: Participate in the life of Athabasca University and the broader community in which it is embedded. Teaching and Learning: Develop, teach, and evaluate undergraduate courses in the Bachelor of Nursing (BN) Program. Clinical teaching includes a one‑four‑week medical‑surgical rotation each term. Qualifications Completed Master’s in Nursing (MN or MScN); candidates near completion may be considered. Active registration with CRNA as a Registered Nurse in Alberta (required). Several years of medical‑surgical nursing clinical experience, including experience within the last year. Availability to teach one in‑person, four consecutive weeks, full‑time clinical rotation on a medical‑surgical unit per term. Demonstrated commitment to professional growth, innovative and reflective teaching, and current clinical teaching experience in medical/surgical nursing. Experience in an online learning environment is an asset. Ability to lead and collaborate effectively as part of larger teams. Openness to developing skills and potential beyond areas of prior strength, and a commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and continuous improvement. Work Location Successful candidate must reside in Calgary or its surrounding metropolitan area.
