Software Configuration Management Analyst Location: North York, ON – Hybrid (2–3 days/week on-site) Contract Duration: 6 months, with potential extension or conversion to permanent Hours: Monday–Friday, 40 hours/week Pay Rate: $45–$56/hour T4 | $55–$65/hour INC Position Summary: We are seeking a Software Configuration Management Analyst to support our local team. In this role, you will implement and maintain configuration management (CM) processes across assigned projects and products, ensuring consistent application of CM principles and effective change control throughout the entire lifecycle. Key Responsibilities: Implement the CM system for assigned projects/products and maintain accuracy of configuration data. Review contractual CM requirements, contribute to bids, prepare cost/time estimates, and assess related risks. Develop, implement, and maintain all activities outlined in the Configuration Management Plan, including CM planning, configuration identification, configuration control, status accounting, verification and audits. Manage the implementation of the PLM system, including requirements analysis, configuration, customization, data loading, and end-user training. Provide technical leadership and resolve complex CM issues. Support creation of the Product Breakdown Structure (PBS). Establish CM baselines (FBL, ABL, PBL), and perform FCA, PCA, SCA, and software build verifications. Ensure proper use of the PLM system and coach project teams on CM processes and tools. Troubleshoot CM issues throughout the project/product lifecycle and drive timely corrective actions. Maintain configuration data consistency across the Country of Origin (COO) and Country of Destination (COD). Define CM requirements for subcontractors/suppliers and monitor compliance. Collaborate with CM teams across business units, subcontractors, and suppliers. Contribute to continuous improvement of CM procedures, tools, and overall discipline. Support organizational change by partnering with engineering teams to adopt new processes. (If applicable) Coordinate Configuration Administrators and ensure consistency of configuration information across assigned scopes. Required Skills & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years of experience supporting systems, software, or hardware development through a direct CM role within engineering or cross-functional environments. Preferred Skills & Experience: Hands-on experience with PLM systems (Windchill/Palma preferred). Strong understanding of CM principles, software/hardware development processes, and best practices. Experience with version control and issue-tracking tools. Prior exposure to complex system development—railway or similar industries is an asset. Knowledge of tools such as Microsoft Access, Visual Studio, DOORS, ClearCase/GIT, ClearQuest/JIRA, ERP (SAP). Strong communication, problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
