We’re looking for our next Director, Finance Systems & Transformation. Could it be you?

The Director, Finance Systems and Transformation will lead finance-related requirements and oversee the implementation of a new core banking platform, credit card processing system, and development finance processes related to associated banking products for CTC and the future Bank. Reporting to the CFO of CTC and the future Bank, this role is crucial in driving finance transformation initiatives.

In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

1. Spearheading the finance workstream in core banking transformations and credit card processor implementations.
2. Providing a deep understanding of finance business requirements for banking technology and products.
3. Applying proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
4. Acting as the key liaison and finance subject matter expert on project teams for the core banking implementation and associated bank product launches.
5. Collaborating cross-functionally within the FRFIs and QFG.
6. Participating as a vital member of the CTC and Questbank Finance Leadership Team and Questrade Financial Group (“QFG”), alongside the Corporate Controller, Head of FP&A and Capital Management, Director of Treasury, Managing Director of Capital Markets, and Sr Mgr., Finance Projects at CTC.
7. This role initially begins as an individual contributor but has the potential to expand to include direct reports such as Business and Process Analysts.

1. Deep understanding of banking operations and finance: Comprehensive knowledge of financial processes within a banking environment, including general ledger accounting, financial reporting, regulatory compliance (e.g., IFRS, GAAP), and internal controls. Experience with credit card processing systems and associated revenue recognition is crucial.
2. Core banking systems and technology: Extensive experience with core banking platform implementations, particularly Temenos T24 (or similar). Understanding of system architecture, data flows, and integration points is essential.
3. Project management methodologies: Proficiency in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, including experience leading project workstreams, managing timelines, budgets, and resources.
4. Business analysis and requirements gathering: Proven ability to elicit, analyze, document, and validate complex business requirements from diverse stakeholders. Experience using business analysis tools and techniques is a plus.
5. Data analysis and interpretation: Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and draw meaningful conclusions to inform decision-making.
6. Regulatory compliance: Knowledge of relevant banking regulations and compliance requirements related to financial reporting, data security, and risk management.
7. Vendor management: Experience managing relationships with external vendors and ensuring timely delivery of services.
8. Risk management: Ability to identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with system implementations and banking operations.
9. Testing and validation: Experience developing and executing comprehensive testing plans, including user acceptance testing (UAT).

Additional information:

Key accountabilities include:

1. Lead the finance workstream in the implementation of the core banking platform, and credit card processing systems, and other product launches ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
2. Requirement Gathering: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and validate finance business requirements, ensuring they are accurately integrated into the new systems.
3. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary liaison between the finance department, IT project management, Journeys, vendors, and other stakeholders, facilitating clear communication and timely decision-making.
4. System Integration: Oversee the integration of finance modules with other system components, ensuring seamless data flow and process efficiency.
5. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure that the new systems comply with regulatory standards and internal policies, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
6. Testing and Validation: Develop and execute comprehensive testing plans to validate system functionality, data integrity, and user acceptance from a finance perspective.
7. Training and Support: Provide training to finance team members on new system functionalities and offer ongoing support post-implementation.
