Salary Grade Grade 213 – $97,184.05. Job Summary Design, develop, and deliver adult learning experiences that meet business goals while incorporating learning technologies, industry best practices, and inclusive design principles. Major Duties and Responsibilities Provide learning performance advice: scope, plan, and create learning strategies that balance client goals, business needs, and technology considerations. Establish and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and subject‑matter experts; articulate technical concepts in plain language. Advise on appropriate learning modalities, media, methods, and delivery channels; assess and test learner performance. Stay current with instructional design, learning technologies, and industry trends; contribute to evolving standards, style guides, and templates. Lead delivery of design and development work packages, ensuring timelines and milestones are met and documented. Apply design thinking to perform needs analysis and technology assessment: conduct client meetings, focus groups, interviews, surveys, and observations to create empathy maps, learner personas, experience maps, and performance‑based learning objectives. Work with subject‑matter experts to translate content into effective learning products; curate, update, and customize internal or external learning resources. Design and develop end‑to‑end learning experiences (journeys, programs, courses) across delivery channels such as instructor‑led training, workshops, social learning, e‑learning, podcasts, simulations, and mobile apps. Use authoring tools (Articulate 360, Adobe Creative Suite, Camtasia, Microsoft 365) and platforms (SharePoint, LMS, web portals) to deliver content. Write design proposals, storyboards, audio/video scripts, facilitator guides, presentation decks, and performance support tools. Prototype, test user experience, and iterate designs using agile techniques; perform QA on deliverables. Utilize SCORM/xAPI compliant coding where appropriate; evaluate learning products through surveys, assessments, quizzes, and performance tests. Collaborate on post‑learning analysis to evaluate reactions, learning, and transfer; recommend improvements and pilot solutions. Support implementation: design and facilitate train‑the‑trainer sessions, plan rollout, publish content to repositories, and troubleshoot technical issues. Coordinate ongoing maintenance of learning programs: update content, manage changes, and report completion. Champion inclusive design: identify risks, conduct accessibility testing (assistive software), and adhere to AODA and web accessibility standards. Act as a change agent for continuous learning models, supporting organizational and legislative changes through high‑quality learning design. Perform other related duties as required or assigned. Job Requirements Education University completion at undergraduate level with specialization in education, adult education, or instructional design; or a diploma/certificate in workplace learning, adult education, instructional design, e‑learning development, graphic design, or user experience design. Experience Five (5) years of prior experience in instructional design, learning experience design, learning development, design thinking, and/or learning management systems.
