Position Title: Research Journalist (French Services) Employment Type: Full-time (Permanent) Location: 888 Rue St‑Jean, Quebec, Quebec, G1R 5H6 Language Requirement: French (Reading, Speaking, Writing) About CBC/Radio‑Canada: At CBC/Radio‑Canada, we create content that informs, entertains and connects Canadians on multiple platforms. Our success is driven by values such as creativity, integrity, inclusiveness and relevance. The Research Journalist works as part of the Service d’actualités région (SAR), regional news department. Role Overview: Based in Quebec City, you will report to the Senior Manager of News & Current Affairs, and act as a Researcher/Reporter. You will pitch relevant story and content ideas, develop original interview angles and identify compelling guests to meet the information needs of our audiences in Francophone Canada. Adaptability, ability to handle pressure and a broad network of contacts are essential. Schedule: Weekday hours 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; hours may vary for production requirements. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field. Three years’ journalism experience. Skills: Excellent knowledge of national and international affairs. Extensive general knowledge. Strong research skills and familiarity with research tools and techniques. Ability to build connections and share contacts via the Contacto network. Comfortable on‑air presence, particularly on radio. Resourceful self‑starter who thrives in a team environment. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Knowledge of CBC/Radio‑Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices. Excellent command of spoken and written French. Intermediate oral and reading proficiency in English; beginner writing proficiency is an asset. Availability to work irregular hours.
