Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting various commercial furniture projects through the application of design and drafting skills. Knowledge of furniture construction is an asset. This position requires proficiency in CAD and Mozaic software and a strong understanding of technical drawings and specifications. The Associate will collaborate with our fabrication team and clients to ensure project specifications are met while maintaining high standards of quality. The successful candidate will be required to travel to work sites on occasion, communicate confidently with clients, and keep consistent attention to detail while maintaining a consistent flow of work to ensure projects are completed on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

  1. Create detailed drawings & plans based on project specifications using AutoCAD.
  2. Collaborate with clients, millworkers, & general contractors to understand project requirements & timelines.
  3. Use Mozaic software programming to program parts for our CNC machine.
  4. Conduct reviews of design documents to ensure compliance with project requirements and incorporate design modifications as needed.
  5. Draft templates for sewing, building, & upholstery.
  6. Review & revise drawings for accuracy & compliance with industry standards.
  7. Work in tandem with the rest of the drafting, scheduling and production team to ensure project specifications and deadlines are met. Collaborate on project progress, challenges, and solutions.
  8. Learn the trade & industry Unique Contract Interiors operates within. You will be required to work on the shop floor & installs as required as a part of your training to further your knowledge.
  9. Occasional travel to jobsites will be required.

Qualifications

  1. Certificate, Diploma, or Degree in Computer-Aided Design.
  2. Proficiency in AutoCAD and experience with Revit, Sketch-Up, Mozaik is required.
  3. Experience in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  4. Strong understanding of building principles & drafting techniques.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing individual responsibilities.
  6. Ability to interpret technical specifications & translate them into accurate drawings.
  7. Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  8. Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  9. Ability to work solo as well as with a team.
  10. Previous hands-on experience with construction and site measurements is an asset.
  11. Valid Class 5 Drivers License.
  12. Positive attitude, motivated, & willing to learn.
