Manager, Controls and Governance – RBC Overview This role is responsible for maintaining the integrity and effectiveness of Accounting Services’ control framework, ensuring it is robust and capable of mitigating risks and achieving objectives. Leads the Quality Audit team, ensuring processes and controls are upheld and SLAs maintained. Acts as Accounting Services COE Expert for controls and ensuring identification of continuous improvement opportunities, development and implementation of action plans and solutions. What Will You Do? Responsible for ensuring Quality Audit processes are followed and in compliance with SOX control. Lead the Quality Audit team (North America, Caribbean, UK, Vendor Master and Travel and Expense) ensuring SLAs are maintained. Assess existing controls, identify weaknesses, and implement improvements to ensure integrity of financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and overall effectiveness of business processes, including logging and closing operational reporting events and self‑identified issues. Work with management and staff to address control deficiencies and improve the overall control environment. Provide training and guidance to team on control procedures and compliance requirements. Act as key knowledge resource for controls across Accounting Services. What You Need to Succeed Must Have Strong understanding and knowledge of controls, risk management and all regulatory and compliance rules. CPA designation. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. Excellent people management and change management skills. Excellent interpersonal and highly developed communication skills (verbal and written). Strong MS Office skills – Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint. Knowledge of SAP, Concur, Coupa, Great Plains. Nice‑to‑Have Sense of urgency, agile, adaptable and resilient to handle multiple situations. An innovative thinker who is proactive and well organized with attention to detail. Strong communication and client/partner service skills. Passionate about continuous growth, learning and sharing knowledge within a team.
