Your Opportunity

We are seeking an Intermediate Hydrogeologist to join our environmental services team in British Columbia (offices located in Burnaby, Vancouver, Victoria, Sidney, Kelowna, Kamloops, Quesnel, and Prince George). The position will join the Hydrogeology Technical Team of Stantec’s Environmental Services Business Line.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. a variety of projects related to hydrogeologic assessments and groundwater supply development
  2. Follow safe work practices and adhere to company and client guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner
  3. Organize field investigations in support of hydrogeology studies including drilling, well construction, and testing oversight; groundwater and surface water sampling; water level monitoring; hydraulic conductivity testing; and infiltration testing
  4. Design and construction of groundwater monitoring wells and groundwater supply wells
  5. Develop conceptual site hydrogeologic understanding
  6. Analyze and interpret data including pumping test results, aquifer response, surface water and groundwater interaction
  7. Prepare technical reports documenting field investigations, analytical results and interpretation
  8. Assist project managers with developing project budgets, determining project scope, and establishing project schedules
  9. Travel as required to various field sites with overnight travel sometimes required
  10. Demonstrate sound understanding and application of established practices, standards, and guidelines

  9. Participate in Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE) Policies, Procedures, Standards and Guidelines in the execution of all work
  10. A valid driver’s license is required

Education and Experience

Post-secondary educational background specializing in a Geoscience or Engineering program with an emphasis on hydrogeology.

A minimum of 3 years of professional hydrogeology experience.

Existing professional registration or ability to work towards a professional registration (P.Geo. or P.Eng.)

Salary Range(s):

Lower Mainland $84,500/BC Other Areas $79,700 - Lower Mainland $122,400/BC Other Areas $115,500 Min/Max Pay Range for postings located in BC (Lower Mainland includes Vancouver & Burnaby)
