Our client is seeking an Outage Valve Tester for a shutdown for a nuclear plant. Previous nuclear experience is non-negotiable. The Technical Diagnostic Tester will be responsible for performing diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance of Motor Operated Valves (MOVs) and Air Operated Valves (AOVs) in accordance with manufacturer specifications and plant standards. The role involves preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance using diagnostic systems such as Viper20 and VOTES Infinity, ensuring reliable and efficient valve performance. The position requires close collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to support outage activities, commissioning, and ongoing plant operations in a safety-critical environment. Duties and Responsibilities: Perform troubleshooting and corrective maintenance of MOVs and AOVs in accordance with manufacturer manuals (e.g., Rotork, Biffi, Dresser, Parcol, Velan, Emerson). Conduct refurbishment and overhaul of MOV and AOV actuators and accessories. Acquire and analyze diagnostic data for MOVs and AOVs using Viper20, VOTES Infinity, or similar systems. Perform calibration, diagnosis, and functional testing of electric and pneumatic actuators. Prepare, issue, and revise maintenance procedures for valves, actuators, and associated accessories. Execute preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on valve systems to ensure reliability. Support engineering and operations departments with technical expertise and diagnostic results. Coordinate EI&C maintenance teams during commissioning and maintenance activities. Ensure all activities comply with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate maintenance and diagnostic documentation for traceability and performance monitoring. Qualifications: Technical diploma or equivalent qualification in Electrical, Instrumentation, or Mechanical Engineering. Minimum 3 years’ experience in valve maintenance, diagnostics, or testing, preferably in a nuclear or industrial environment. Nuclear industry and outage experience are essential. Strong understanding of MOV/AOV systems, diagnostics, and actuator components. Proficient in using diagnostic systems such as Viper20 and VOTES Infinity (or equivalent). Skills and Competencies: Proficient in interpreting valve and actuator drawings, technical documentation, and manufacturer specifications. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for both electrical and pneumatic actuators. Ability to perform calibration and diagnostic analysis independently. Effective coordination and leadership of maintenance teams during commissioning and testing. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and task completion. Excellent communication skills and ability to work in multicultural teams. High level of responsibility, self-discipline, and reliability.
