Software Engineer I - Junior Level About The Job Mercor connects elite creative and technical talent with leading AI research labs. Position: Software Engineer Type: Hourly contractor Compensation: $50–$100/hour Location: Remote Duration: 1–2 months Commitment: 10–20 hours/week Base Pay Range: $50.00/hr - $100.00/hr Role Responsibilities Develop scalable APIs and service layers interfacing with advanced AI models. Configure environments and design databases to support machine learning applications. Lead the creation and testing of complex database schemas. Collaborate asynchronously and work independently with flexible hours. Enhance system performance to meet the demands of next-generation AI. Qualifications 1+ years of elite software engineering experience. Computer Science degree from a prestigious university in the U.S., Canada, or the UK. Proficiency in SQL and database structuring. Expert-level skills in API development. Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
