Our Lady of Mercy Elementary School is an exciting place to learn and grow for children Kindergarten to Grade 7. Our faith is the cornerstone of our school, and we aspire to create a community where families can experience Christ through the actions of teachers, support staff, and one another. JOB DESCRIPTION

Our Lady of Mercy School in Burnaby is looking to add an intermediate teacher to our vibrant and welcoming staff. If you are looking to be part of a community and to empower, prepare and have a positive impact on our learners, and if you have a passion and a love for learning and discovery, and want to help students find their own passion, then OLM is the place for you. We believe in making a difference in our students’ lives by cultivating in them a love for their faith, for learning and for self-improvement.

There is no one person or group who can take credit for the success of our school. The staff at Our Lady of Mercy is energetic, hard-working and creative. They work together as a team and are constantly sharing and learning. Parents are actively involved and can be seen on the yard, in the classrooms, in the library and in the office. They stand behind all that we do and their support is invaluable. We have an outstanding pastor who plays an active role in school and in shaping the spiritual life of the students.

The classroom teacher is responsible for teaching the Ministry Curriculum and assessments. Music, PE, Tech, and French are taught by specialist. On an on-going basis, we accept teacher applications for grade levels K to 12 for our Catholic schools throughout the Greater Vancouver Area and Powell River in beautiful British Columbia. All Catholics, non-Catholics, new education grads, and experienced teachers from across Canada are strongly encouraged to apply. Our major hiring season is in April for the following school year, but we recommend that you apply now as we receive an influx of applications.
