The Division provides a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits, transportation and moving expense reimbursement, subsidized housing or housing allowance and isolation allowance in qualifying communities, annual travel reimbursement, reimbursement for approved courses and more Gillam School is a thriving Nursery to Grade 12 school located 304 km north of Thompson on the Fox Lake Cree Nation Traditional Territory. Gillam is a prosperous community with a beautiful, newly-renovated recreation centre that includes: skating and curling rinks, a community library, a movie theatre and a fitness centre. The community is a recreational paradise offering fishing, boating, hunting, snowmobiling, cross-country skiing, and hiking trails. Other amenities include a hospital, pharmacy, Co-op grocery store and hair salon. There are also daily flights to Winnipeg.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Education Degree

Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)

A sound knowledge of provincial Middle Years curricula

Previous Middle Years teaching experience

Strong classroom management skills

Knowledge of Indigenous Way of Life

Experience working with students with unique needs

A commitment to differentiated instruction

A willingness to inquire into best practices and reflect on practices

A team player committed to the belief that all students can learn

Self-motivated
