Conestoga is seeking a skilled and experienced HVAC Technician responsible for the daily operation,maintenance and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems across multiple campuslocations. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and reliable performance of mechanical systems andcontributes to a comfortable and sustainable learning environment. Successful candidates will be required to conduct work on-site five days per week, Monday to Friday,8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Conestoga’s Skilled Trades campus, located at 25 Reuter Drive in Cambridgeor the Waterloo campus located at 108 University Ave E. Travel is required to support other Conestogacampus locations, including Brantford, Kitchener and Guelph. RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain, update, and repair HVAC-related building support systems, including buildingenvironmental technologies such as digital controlled interfaces, heat recovery systems,motors, humidification systems, re-heat coils, heat pumps, cooling towers, rooftop heatingand cooling systems, boilers, pneumatic and electronic controls, and variable frequency drives Monitor, maintain, and repair refrigeration systems Perform scheduled predictive and preventative maintenance and repair on heating,ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment Ensure code compliance of systems by performing inspections and testing Prepare required documentation, update manuals, and provide information regarding workconducted for input into the computerized maintenance management system Source information and parts by contacting vendors, technical libraries, and the internet toestimate material quantities and costs for projects and repair activities Purchase required materials via purchase order or corporate credit card Provide technical information and support to skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled staff asrequired Install and commission new heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment Monitor building systems through advanced computer programs and software Monitor and inspect work performed by contractors, trades workers, and mechanics andreport findings and or discrepancies to the Manager of Operations & Maintenance QUALIFICATIONS Certificate of qualification as a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic (313A) is required Gas Technician I (G.1) certification is required Ozone Depletion Prevention Card (CFC certificate) is required Minimum of eight years of practical experience servicing, troubleshooting, and repairing old andnew mechanical, electric, electronic, and computerized digital devices and systems Working knowledge of the Energy Act, HVAC Code, Canadian Standards Association (CSA), andthe Occupational Health and Safety Act Ability to foresee and interpret problems before they become serious Ability to follow wiring schematic associated with a variety of types and makes of equipment Thorough knowledge of blueprint reading from architectural to mechanical drawings Ability to recognize and act on safety hazards Understanding of building management control systems, including Pneumatic and Direct DigitalControl (DDC) Good communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work in a team environment A valid G driver’s license in good standing is required Demonstrates flexibility in supporting after-hours emergency needs as situations arise Competition #: 25-0170R1Dept. / Campus: Utilities, Sustainability, & Facilities Information Systems / Cambridge25 Reuter Dr. and Waterloo – 108 University Ave ESalary Range: Payband J; Range $42.56 – $49.34; Starting Salary $42.5640 hours/weekPosting Date: October 24, 2025Closing Date: November 16, 2025Vacancy Type: Two Full-Time Support Staff, replacement positions(First consideration for support staff and academic positions will begiven to internal applicants in accordance with the respective collectiveagreements) Applicants can apply online with their resume or contact hrrecruitment@conestogac.on.ca with any questions. #J-18808-Ljbffr
