As a Financial Planner, you will focus on developing and deepening mass‑affluent client relationships by providing high quality advice and service. External clients – Proactively engage individuals outside the Scotiabank network, showcasing the unique value a Financial Planner brings. Internal clients – Deepen relationships with existing Scotiabank clients who may have limited interaction with the bank, cultivating meaningful connections and positioning yourself as a trusted advisor. Responsibilities Following a comprehensive financial planning framework, you will: Drive investment sales and new client acquisition while adhering to Global Sales Principles, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Establish business development opportunities with prospects and clients within the assigned market area. Promote the development and sustainable growth of proprietary investment business in the assigned market area. Execute business development plans for mass‑affluent prospects and existing clients, facilitating investment solutions and referrals. Provide client‑centric investment solutions within a financial planning framework, conducting outbound communications and proactive outreach. Participate actively in local professional and community events, delivering information sessions and financial seminars to expand your network. Maintain a market profile and network with investment industry specialists while managing independent marketing activities. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in financial planning and investment sales. Current accreditation and good standing for CIRO licensing requirements (Investments Funds in Canada or Canadian Securities Course). Completed Personal Financial Planning (PFP®) and/or Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation. Proven networking, client acquisition and interpersonal skills; experience building and maintaining Centres of Influence (COIs). Goal‑oriented and entrepreneurial, able to work independently with minimal supervision. Extensive knowledge of market trends, economic conditions, and the regulatory environment.
