Join us today and make a differencePosition SummaryUnder the general supervision of the Manager of the Technical Platforms of the Center for Innovative Medicine (CIM) the incumbent is responsible for performing echocardiographic imaging examinations including transesophageal echocardiography, exercise echocardiography and studies with ultrasound contrast. The candidate will receive and prepare patients, ensure examination data are recorded in the radiology information system (SIR) and in the PACS echocardiography system (Syngo Dynamic) and in the iLab system for different protocols of pediatric clinical research.ResponsibilitiesReceive patients and enroll them.Select, prepare and explain exams to patients.Perform technical examinations related to cardiology and echocardiography according to established protocols such as:Doppler echocardiography studyTransesophageal echocardiographyEchocardiography with effortEchocardiography with dobutamineEchocardiography with contrast and/or salineEchocardiography at the bedside of patientsInsert intravenous catheters when needed.Inject contrast media and prepare and administer contrast and saline products.Inscribe and insert the necessary information in the (SIR) according to the procedures of the examinations.Takes blood pressure as needed.Prepare the work environment equipment and medication when required.Ensure that statistical data are updated and entered correctly in the system.Assist the manager in prioritizing research participants for review and resolving conflicting priorities as requested.Ensure proper functioning and cleanliness of the CIM medical equipment.Report dysfunctional equipment and maintenance issues to the manager and the Research Biomedical Engineer.Assist in other settings only when research echocardiography examinations are completed.Monitor the inventory of supplies and place orders.Complete source documentation for researchers according to ICH / GCP.Transmit anonymized images to the central laboratory (sponsor) by uploading the images to the different web portals and when necessary make a copy of the exam on a DVD.Answer the questions of the core lab via the different web portals.Help maintain a clean and orderly work space.Comply with infection control practices to prevent the transmission of disease.Follow established procedures to ensure and maintain a safe environment for patients, staff and visitors.Perform other related tasks asked by the manager.Education / ExperienceEducation: Diploma of College Studies (DEC)Field of Study: Medical Imaging TechnologyWork Experience: 1 year of experience minimumProfessional MembershipMust be registered with the Order of Technologists in Medical Imaging Radio‑Oncology and Medical Electrophysiology of Quebec (OTIMROEPMQ), hold an autonomous practice certificate issued by the OTIMROEPMQ and meet the requirements of the Professional Standard in Ultrasound of OTIMROEPMQ.Required SkillsNot having stopped practicing cardiac echocardiography for more than 1 year.Bilingual (good written and verbal communication skills in French and English).Autonomy excellent work organization.Experience in clinical research would be an asset.Excellent interpersonal skills.Can work with a minimum of supervision.Status & SalaryStatus: Part‑time occasionalPay Scale: $24.40 – $45.29 / hour (commensurate to qualifications and experience)Work Shift: Between Monday and Friday evening and weekend on occasionWork Site: Glen Site (1001 Décarie) and MGH (1650 av.
