Job Description:

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Intermediate to Senior Environmental Site Assessments and Remediation Project Manager to support our Environment and Energy (E&E) Team In this role you will get to work closely with a variety of professionals on environmental and infrastructure projects.

Ideal candidates should be located near Oakville, ON but may consider applicants virtually in Ontario on a case by case basis.

What You'll Be Doing:

The primary responsibilities for this position will include project management, coordinating investigations, design and/or preparing reports for environmental site investigation (ESA), excess soil planning, and remediation projects. Specific job description includes but is not limited to the following:

  1. Project management and technical support related to various environmental and infrastructure projects, including investigations, remediation design and excess soil planning, investigation and management.
  2. Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments to CSA and O.Reg.153/04 requirements;
  3. Remedial design and site remediation oversight: including excavations, ISCO, bioremediation, permeable and impermeable barriers, and mechanical technologies (air sparge, pump and treat, dual phase extraction, etc), sediment remediation, mine closures
  4. Excess soil and waste management on infrastructure projects, contributing to planning and design inputs as per O.Reg. 406/19
  5. Design support of infrastructure projects (roads/highways, transit, bridges, EAs, sewers/watermains) from a waste/contamination and excess soil perspective
  6. Learn, follow, advocate (train others) and improve upon our project process that may be required by Parsons and/or our clients. These processes may be related to field scheduling, reporting, data process, health and safety, training, and others.
  7. Support business development activities including proposal preparation on major and minor pursuits;
  8. Project Management and Coordination:
    1. ESA and remediation related projects
    2. Tracking and maintaining budgets and project finances;
    3. Preparing Reports;
    4. Maintain client relationships in various industries;
    5. Liaise and support other engineering disciplines.
    6. Primary point of contact with clients, junior staff, and other project managers.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  1. Degree in earth sciences, environmental/chemical/geological engineering or similar programs
  2. 10 + years of consulting experience at an engineering firm with strong experience in the applicable federal and provincial environmental laws and regulations within a Canadian (preferably Ontario) jurisdiction
  3. 5+ years managing contaminated sites projects with consulting values over $100K and/or as a project manager or a technical designer
  4. Technically strong with advance knowledge of environmental site assessments, excess oil planning and various remediation approaches
  5. Experience working with diverse multidiscipline and/or international project teams.
  6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
  7. Financially literate from a project management perspective
  8. Process oriented, including adherence to rigorous client and Parsons process and policies including but not exclusive to reporting, health and safety, procurement, human resources and IT workflows.
  9. Track record of delivering high quality work products

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  1. Demonstrated leadership particularly with soft skills- ability to learn from and train staff.
  2. Technical expertise with one or multiple environmental remediation subject matters (ie. emerging contaminants, sediment investigation/remediation, contaminant transport modeling, etc.).
  3. Broad environmental and engineering knowledge related to consulting project delivery.
  4. Technology/software savvy such as knowledge of databases, GIS, AI, and other software packages.
  5. Business Development (networking) and proposal writing acumen.
