The Manager of Clinical Informatics reports to the Director of Care and manages the information technology and compliance related to resident care through coordinating the RAI‑MDS process and monitoring of quality outcomes and CIHI reports. Responsible for quality of resident care, nursing restorative philosophy and compliance through coaching, mentoring, discipline. Also responsible for ensuring staff education, orientation and mentoring to support the transfer of RAI‑MDS 2.0 and Quality Improvement knowledge within the home. Responsibilities Overview of Informatics on Quality Improvement and RAI‑MDS 2.0 process of new staff or students. Education and software training to all appropriate staff members on RAI‑MDS 2.0, RAPS, subscale outcome measures, quality indicators and reports. Coordinate AIS certification of all newly hired registered staff and annually thereafter. Consult with management and interdisciplinary team members to develop processes that ensure data integrity, efficient collection and assessment completion. Establish data quality processes to evaluate MDS coding accuracy and timely completion. Participate in development of annual QIP and progress report and quality initiatives. Understand nature and meaning of quality indicators. Coordinate data submission process to CIHI. Lead Nursing Restorative program in the home. Mentor and coach Nursing Restorative Therapists. Orientate new staff to philosophy, policy and criteria of Nursing Restorative Care. Interpret legislative requirements and monitor compliance through continuous quality improvement activities. Counsel staff in areas of non‑compliance, inappropriate and unprofessional behaviour. Assist with completion of staff probationary and annual performance reviews of all nursing staff. Implement learning that develops self‑awareness and person‑centered approach toward others. Qualifications Registered health professional licensed under the Health Disciplines Act in a Canadian jurisdiction other than Ontario, holding the equivalent of a certificate of registration authorizing independent practice in Ontario as of right exemption Bill 60. Well‑developed written and oral communication skills. Knowledge and experience with adult education strategies/facilitation. Ability to identify the training needs of the team and individuals. Proficient computer skills and strong problem‑solving abilities. Experience working with interdisciplinary team members and other stakeholders. Knowledge of RAI‑MDS – AIS certified as RAI Educator; if not must be completed within one month. Skills in trending and analyzing data. Knowledge of Quality Improvement. Minimum two (2) years experience in a long‑term care setting. Minimum two (2) years supervisory experience desired. Evidence of focused people‑centred interactions and positive social interaction. Compliance with legal requirements related to individual rights and risk reduction. Complete and current Vulnerable Sector Check (within six months) or willingness to obtain one. Documented TB testing (within six months) or chest X‑ray (within last year). Two supervisory references required. Proof of all required vaccines (up to date). What we offer you Competitive wages.
