We are currently seeking an Electrical Engineer to support our wind facilities across North America. The ideal candidate will provide electrical engineering and Balance of Plant (BoP) support to a variety of Bulk Electric System (BES) wind facilities across North America.

Your expertise and experience would be invaluable in ensuring accurate and thorough engineering support for power operations, reliability compliance and contributing to the overall safety and reliability of our (BES) solar facilities.

What You Will Do:

  • Act as the primary Electrical Engineering SME to resolve operational and reliability issues in turbines and BoP systems, leading root cause analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with Engineering team members and Plant Managers to ensure Balance of Plant (BoP) maintenance activities are performed adequately.
  • Work with various turbine vendors to enhance, improve, or modify aggregate or turbine specific voltage and frequency controls.
  • Collaborate with Plant Managers and Consultants to perform arc-flash assessment of Wind facilities in North America. li>
  • Coordinate and collaborate with various external stakeholders, Enbridge’s Control Center and consultants to manage or lead changes to existing SCADA system.
  • Provide engineering support to assets installed in various jurisdictions such as WECC, SERC, TRE, NPCC, IESO, and AESO.

Who You Are:

  • You possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Required specialization: Electrical)
  • Minimum of 7+ years of relevant work experience as an Electrical Engineer or Specialist supporting BoP activities.
  • Strong electrical background to perform necessary engineering maintenance and field troubleshooting activities.
  • Must be able to work with applicable SEL and GE software to perform necessary protection system review or changes.
  • Familiar with applying applicable CSA/IEEE/ANSI Standards for medium & high voltage equipment and NETA standards for testing related activities.
  • Good understanding and experience of dealing with Type 3 and Type 4 wind turbine generators including its controls, converters and auxiliary electrical components such as switchgear and turbine transformer.
