Summary

We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Datacentre and Hybrid Cloud team, specifically in the servers, storage and virtualization areas. This role is pivotal to providing both professional service consultation/implementation services, as well as managed services engineering. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of activities including solution design, documentation, testing, and project delivery, ensuring a seamless hand-off to both internal Day 2 teams and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate/collaborate with the customer to design, develop and deliver infrastructure solutions
  • Prepare and contribute to Statements of Work for client mandates
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance in new solution or technology process onboarding
  • Participate in presales activities and project effort estimations
  • Collaborate with internal teams, partners, and suppliers for effective communication and expectation management
  • Regularly liaise with Customer Service Account Managers to discuss results and action plans
  • Communicate effectively with customers and internal business groups throughout project lifecycles
  • Provide technical support and knowledge transfer to day-2 operations
Critical Qualifications

Technical Skills

Virtualization Technologies: In-depth knowledge of VMWare (versions 6.x/7.x/8.x), HCI technologies (VSAN, Nutanix, Storage Spaces Direct), and other virtualization technologies.
Storage Systems: Proficient with SAN storage systems (NetApp, Dell Unity, Powerstore, EMC VNX, Nimble, IBM, or PureStorage) and SAN switches (Brocade, MDS).
Server and Hardware: Good knowledge of HP and Cisco server and storage hardware (C7000, UCS, Synergy, PowerFlex).
Backup Technologies: Familiarity with backup solutions like NetBackup, Commvault, Veeam, Cohesity, Zerto etc.
Cloud Technologies: Familiarity with hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and identity management in a hybrid environment.
Networking and Security: Strong knowledge of networking and security concepts.

Operating Systems:

Windows: Experience in Microsoft Windows System Design/Administration, Active Directory local and hybrid, DNS, Windows automation, and WSUS.
Unix/Linux: Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux operating systems (Linux, CentOS, Solaris), and virtualization technologies.
Programming and Automation: Knowledge of Patch Management/version control tools (Ansible, Satellite, OpenShift, Docker, and Kubernetes).
VDI Solutions: In-depth experience with VDI solutions (Citrix, RDS, Horizon, AVD, etc.) and associated profile solutions.

Soft Skills:

Documentation: Ability to write clear and comprehensive technical documents.
Adaptability: Rapid adaptation to and adoption of emerging technologies.
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills with deductive reasoning capabilities.
Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Customer Service: Strong customer service orientation with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Multitasking: Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks effectively.
ITIL Framework: Understanding Change, and Incident Management, 5 years or more industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Electrical Engineering or Computer Sciences degree or equivalent
  • Hypervisor certification (VMware, Nutanix, Microsoft)
  • Storage Certifications (EMC, Dell, HPe, NetApp, others)

Adequate knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec.
