Key Responsibilities
- Data Engineering Solutions: Support the development of data engineering solutions by contributing to the design and implementation of scalable and high-performing data systems.
- Data Pipelines and Infrastructure: Develop and maintain data pipelines and infrastructure, ensuring reliability and efficiency in data processing workflows.
- Data Technologies and Tools: Assist in evaluating and selecting data technologies, infrastructure, and tools, contributing to the implementation of data architectures and workflows.
- Coding Standards and Best Practices: Follow and apply coding standards and best practices within the Data Engineering & Operations team, participating in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency.
- Data Initiatives Alignment: Work closely with database developers, software development, product management, and AI/ML developers to align data initiatives with Assent's organizational goals.
- Project Management: Collaborate with team members to monitor progress, adjust priorities, and meet project deadlines and objectives.
- Process Improvements: Identify and suggest opportunities for internal process improvements, including automating manual processes and optimizing data delivery.
- Knowledge Expansion: Expand knowledge and skills by learning from senior team members, sharing insights, and contributing to technical discussions.
- Corporate Security: Be familiar with corporate security policies and follow the guidance set out by processes and procedures of Assent.
Qualifications
- Data Engineering Experience: 5+ years of data engineering experience.
- Tools and Languages: Proficiency in tools and languages, such as AWS, dbt, Snowflake, Git, R, Python, SQL, SQL Server, and Snowflake.
- Organizational Skills: Effective organizational skills with the ability to manage tasks and communicate technical concepts clearly.
- Data Analysis: Proficient in collecting, organizing, and analyzing data with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Data Management Systems: Understanding of data management systems, warehouse methodologies, data quality principles, data modeling techniques, and governance best practices.
- Agile Work Environments: Familiarity with agile work environments and scrum ceremonies.
- Business Acumen: Basic business acumen and experience in aligning data initiatives with business objectives.
