We are seeking a Manufacturing Lead to join our team on‑site in Waterloo, Canada. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the manufacturability, scalability, and reliability of complex systems that integrate electronics (FPGA & Analog/RF), optoelectronics (lasers, photodetectors), and optical components (fiber optics). This role requires hands‑on experience with mid‑volume (1,000s) manufacturing and collaboration with cross‑functional teams consisting of R&D scientists and engineers, suppliers, and contract manufacturers. What You'll Do Lead Design‑for‑Manufacturability (DFM) efforts for enterprise‑class products. Work closely with R&D and production teams to optimize electronics, optoelectronics, and optical systems for manufacturing. Develop and implement cost‑reduction and reliability improvement strategies. Manage relationships with OEMs, ODMs, and manufacturing partners to streamline production. Ensure compliance with industry standards (Mil‑Std‑Class desirable). Collaborate on supply chain management to optimize component sourcing and logistics. Work with R&D and production teams to maintain quality control. What You'll Need To Get The Job Done B.S. in Engineering (Manufacturing, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field). Minimum of 8 years relevant experience. Direct experience with mid‑volume (1,000s) manufacturing. Proven expertise in Design‑for‑Manufacturability for complex systems integrating electronics, optoelectronics, and optics. Ability to lead a small team and constructively work with R&D lead. Proven track record of implementing cost‑reduction strategies in manufacturing. Extensive experience collaborating with manufacturing partners (OEM, ODM), and managing supply chains.
