L2/L3 Databricks Support Lead

We are seeking an experienced Databricks Support Lead with 8 to 14 years of experience to join our AIA team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Spark in Scala, Kafka, Azure DevOps, Python, Databricks SQL, Databricks Workflows, and PySpark.

In this role, you will:
  • Design and implement scalable data processing solutions using Spark in Scala and PySpark.
  • Support existing code base across various environments.
  • Provide L2/L3 support of the applications and on-call support on weekends as applicable.
  • Ensure failures/abends are handled and fixes applied.
  • Work with the team on defect fixes.
  • Handshake of support with offshore.
  • Develop and maintain Kafka-based data pipelines to ensure real-time data processing.
  • Use Azure DevOps for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes.
  • Write efficient and maintainable code in Python for various data processing tasks.
  • Create and manage Databricks SQL queries to extract and analyze data.
  • Develop and orchestrate Databricks Workflows for automated data processing.
  • Ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data processing lifecycle.
  • Optimize data processing workflows for performance and scalability.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
What you'll need to succeed (required skills):
  • Must have 5+ years of strong experience in Spark in Scala and PySpark.
  • Must have 6+ years of hands-on experience in Python programming.
  • Must have hands-on experience with Kafka and Azure DevOps.
  • Must have experience with Databricks SQL and Databricks Workflows.
  • Must be able to work in rotational shifts.
  • Must have a strong understanding of data processing and ETL concepts.
What will help you stand out (preferred skills):
  • Nice to have experience in the Property & Casualty Insurance domain.
  • Experience using support ticket systems like Jira or ServiceNow
  • Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, etc.)

Technical Skills: Python, Azure DevOps, PySpark, Kafka, Databricks Workflows, Databricks SQL, Spark in Scala

Certifications Required: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified Data Engineer Associate
