Position Summary: Our client is looking for a seasoned HR Director with a strong background in managing multi-site operations in an industrial setting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in non-union environments, a deep understanding of US labor laws, benefits, and safety protocols, and a proven track record of strategic business planning and budgeting.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Leadership & Strategy: Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business goals. Provide leadership and guidance on HR matters to senior executives.
  2. Multi-Site Management: Oversee HR operations across multiple sites in the GTA and USA. Ensure consistency in HR practices and compliance with local laws.
  3. Legal & Benefits Expertise: Manage legal compliance and employee benefits for US locations. Stay abreast of changes in labor laws and regulations.
  4. Safety: Promote and implement safety programs. Ensure all sites adhere to safety regulations and best practices.
  5. Executive Reporting: Report directly to the executive team. Provide insights and recommendations to support business objectives.
  6. Business Planning & Budgeting: Develop and manage HR budgets. Contribute to strategic planning and business development initiatives.
  7. Stability & Commitment: Demonstrate a stable career history with long-term commitments to previous employers.
  8. Travel: Travel 10-15% of the time within the GTA and the USA to support multi-site operations.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Minimum of 10 years of HR experience in an industrial setting (automotive, metal fabrication, or skilled trades).
  3. Extensive experience in non-union environments.
  4. Strong knowledge of US labor laws, benefits, and safety regulations.
  5. Proven experience reporting to executive-level management.
  6. Demonstrated ability in business planning, strategy development, and budgeting.
  7. Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  8. Willingness and ability to travel 10-15% within the GTA and USA.
