Mainstay is a proud Buffalo River Dene Nation owned company based in Saskatoon, SK. We seek to help mining companies in Canada by providing technical solutions for their operations and their capital construction projects. Our multidisciplinary teams of qualified professionals have successfully overseen billions of dollars worth of projects in mining.The senior structural engineer will have the ability and experience to be a part of the team by being an asset in helping to achieve Mainstay’s business goals and objectives. The senior structural engineer will drive business development in the structural space, will lead the structural/civil group with integrity, and demonstrate effective and efficient organizational skills. This role will actively contribute to projects and support project managers within their department. Providing approvals, technical oversight and mentoring on proposals and engineering deliverables.Your Key ResponsibilitiesComplete structural reviews of existing buildings/structuresComplete written condition/evaluation reportsCompletion of engineering design assignments and management of projects of various scope and complexityCompletion of complex engineering design projects in conjunction with senior engineersUse of a variety of standard engineering methods and techniques to solve problemsOffice review of structural engineering shop drawings and calculationsField review of structural related construction (e.g. reinforcing steel)Application of design software for structural design in conjunction with senior engineersRecommend technological improvements to the departmentAssist other engineers in carrying out technical tasks requiring accuracy in calculations, completeness of data an adherence to prescribed testing analysis, design or computation methodsProvide guidance and direction to junior and student engineers or technologistsProvide technical advice and direction to the teamParticipate in project meetings between engineering, project management, operations, and clientPerform project quality checks, project quality audits, build lessons learned documentation and improvement plansUnderstand and apply all applicable industry and client standards for design and engineeringQualifications:Proficiency with AutoCADDemonstrated leadership skillsDemonstrated commitment to continuous improvementEffective Interpersonal Skills – Strong Written and Verbal skills are a must, to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliersAble to work effectively both independently under minimal supervision, and as a member of a teamStrong customer service focus supported by solid time management and prioritization skillsDemonstrated project management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work and complete work within given timelinesSystematic approach to problem solvingAbility to adapt to ongoing changesDemonstrated negotiating skillsExcellent Personal Computing Skills, including Microsoft OfficeValid Driver’s LicenseDemonstrated technical proficiency in the domain of distribution design including applied knowledge of codes, regulations and distribution standards, policies and proceduresEducation and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in civil/structural Engineering with P.Eng designation with 10 years experienceExperience with heavy industrial and underground structural designP.Eng. designation #J-18808-Ljbffr
