 Forge Recruitment is currently partnered with our client in the search of a junior Civil Litigation Legal Assistant to join their growing Litigation Practice Group. The firm, located in the heart of downtown Toronto seeks a skilled, dynamic, and client-centric professional to join their truly progressive environment.

About the Role
 Supporting the professionals in the Civil Litigation Practice Group, the Legal Assistant will:
  • Assist in the preparation of pleadings, motion records, affidavits of documents, etc.
  • Use Caselines, other document sharing software and web-based platforms
  • Draft correspondence, memoranda, and reports
  • Review and summarize transcripts and prepare undertakings and refusal charts
  • Scheduling matters with courts, mediators, etc.
  • Act as a liaison between lawyer/opposing counsel
  • File organization and management – primarily electronic through a document management system
  • Manage communications with clients, including billings and collections

What You Bring
 As the ideal candidate, you possess 2+ years of experience in a civil litigation practice, gained within a law firm environment. You possess strong knowledge of the Rules of Civil Procedure, strong technical skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills. You have successfully completed a legal designation from an accredited institution.
