Kelowna General Hospital (KGH) is the region’s premier tertiary health‑care centre and the main referral facility for Interior Health. Clinic Details Kelowna General Hospital has approximately 400 beds and receives over 84,000 ED visits per year. It hosts the Interior Heart & Surgical Centre (IHSC), the only cardiac critical‑care centre in BC outside the Lower Mainland, and the new Centennial Building with 360,000 sq ft of expanded emergency and ambulatory care, operating rooms, and a rooftop helipad. KGH is a teaching centre for the Southern Medical Program affiliated with UBC. Practice Details The Laboratory Medicine Department of KGH is seeking a hematopathologist to join an expanding HP division that includes 15 laboratory physicians and 6 pathologists practicing in hematopathology. The physician will provide diagnostic services across a spectrum of benign and malignant hematolymphoid tissues, bone marrow procurement and interpretation, lymphoma protocols, transfusion medicine, coagulation and general hematology, and will participate in education and laboratory oversight. Responsibilities Participate in diagnostic services for a spectrum of benign and malignant hematolymphoid tissues and samples. Procure and interpret bone marrows and specimens for lymphoproliferative disorders (lymphoma protocols). Provide transfusion medicine, coagulation, and general hematology services. Engage in teaching and laboratory oversight roles as required. Contribute to laboratory quality improvement and participation in committee work. Qualifications Eligibility for licensure in the Province of British Columbia. Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. General pathologist with additional training in hematopathology is also considered. Strong clinical and analytical skills, with a commitment to patient care and laboratory excellence. Compensation and Benefits Clinical Service Contract – remuneration based on the provincially negotiated grid level. Relocation funding of $9,000–$15,000 is available for fully‑time positions, with pro‑rated reimbursement for part‑time roles. Additional incentives subject to change and confirmed at the time of offer.
