Apply via Dice today We are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Architect - Remote / Telecommute for our client in Toronto, ON Job Title Cloud Infrastructure Architect - Remote / Telecommute Job Location Toronto, ON Job Type Contract Job Description Architect end-to-end cloud infrastructure solutions tailored to large-scale retail and telecom environments. Lead infrastructure modernization projects, migrating compute, storage, and network workloads to Google Cloud Platform. Design hybrid and multi-cloud architectures ensuring scalability, availability, and cost-efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including network engineers, security architects, and application developers. Establish infrastructure standards and reference architectures for retail stores, data centers, and telco networks. Engage directly with enterprise clients, leading technical workshops and architecture reviews. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years of experience in IT infrastructure or cloud architecture roles, including experience with different industry verticals (Example - retail and/or telecom systems). 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform. In-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with core Google Cloud Platform services (e.g., Compute Engine, GKE, GCVE, VPC, Cloud Storage, Cloud IAM, Cloud DNS, Cloud Load Balancing). Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform. Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Go). Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies. Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, firewalls). Experience with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Google Cloud Platform Operations Suite, Prometheus, Grafana). Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills. Experience with hybrid cloud deployments, data center migrations, and networking topologies. Strong knowledge of cloud security and governance practices within regulated environments. Preferred Qualifications Google Professional Cloud Architect certification mandatory (AWS/Azure is a plus). Strong stakeholder management and consulting experience with enterprise customers. Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
