This role is central to advancing how we retrieve content, generate high-quality and personalized answers, and enable intelligent agent workflows that transform customer efficiency and outcomes.You will drive innovation across semantic retrieval, retrieval-augmented generation, multi-agent orchestration, and knowledge graph–driven approaches to deliver answers that are accurate, context-aware, and measurable in impact. As a Staff-level leader, you will not only solve complex technical problems but also mentor senior talent, influence product direction, and set best practices for applied ML across the organization.What You’ll Be DoingAdvanced Modeling & Applied ScienceLead research-to-production efforts in NLP, LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), multi-agent reasoning, and knowledge graph–driven solutions.System Architecture & EngineeringOwn the scope, architecture, and delivery of scalable ML systems that support high-performance content retrieval and personalized answer generation.Delivery, Collaboration & LeadershipDrive end-to-end project plans for modeling initiatives, establish milestones, and ensure high-quality, timely delivery.What You’ll Bring To The TeamProven Expertise in Machine Learning, Language Models, and NLP6+ years of experience applying ML in production, with specialization in NLP, LLMs, RAG, agent workflows, and knowledge graphs.Technical Leadership and MentorshipAbility to set vision and strategy for applied ML, ensuring alignment with business and product objectives. Experience mentoring senior engineers and data scientists, fostering technical rigor and scientific excellence.System Design, Scalability, and Software Engineering RigorExpertise in architecting large-scale ML systems that combine retrieval, knowledge graphs, and agent orchestration. Strong fundamentals in Python, ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow), and distributed computing. Proven ability to build APIs and microservices bringing ML models into production with high reliability.Business and Product AcumenProven ability to partner with Product, Engineering, and Design leaders to translate technical opportunities into customer value. Experience shaping AI capabilities that improve answer accuracy, personalization, and workflow efficiency for end users.Where You’ll WorkLoopio is a remote-first workplace. We are HQ’d in Canada, with established hub regions around the world where we hire from. Our employees (Loopers) live and work in Canada (British Columbia and Ontario), London, and India (Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Bengaluru). The majority of our team is based in ON and BC, with remote work within a 300km radius of Toronto or Vancouver. Flexible co-working locations are available in ON and BC.
