Oakridge Landscape Contractors has a need for a Small Engine Mechanic (Full-time/Year-Round Work) to join our dynamic team of talented individuals

Oakridge Landscape Contractors has specialized in landscape applications for industrial, commercial, institutional, parks, heritage sites, and highway road infrastructure restoration for more than 30 years.

Our extensive landscape construction knowledge and installation abilities combined with our team, sub-trade relationships, and central location allow our company to complete both large and small scale successfully. We won 9 Landscape Ontario awards in 2021 for our residential and commercial projects.
Job Details:
  • Position: Small Engine Mechanic.
  • Location: Hamilton, Ontario.
  • Pay: $23-27 per hour depending on experience 
  • Benefit - RRSP program

Job Duties:
  • The position of Small Engine Mechanic will involve repairing and maintaining small engine equipment.
  • The successful candidate will report to the Equipment and Yard Mmanager

Job Requirements:
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working as a mechanic performing service repairs on 2 stroke and 4 stroke gasoline engines, snow equipment, weed whackers, hedge trimmers, backpack blowers, mowers, zero-turn mowers, sod cutters, sod rollers, water pumps, generators, and various small tools (Electric and gas-powered).
  • Mechanic license preferred but not necessary.
  • Strong preventative maintenance skills.
  • Strong knowledge of landscape maintenance and construction tools.
  • Strong knowledge of snow equipment.
  • Stihl and Toro experience preferred.
  • Educational Background in Small Engine Repair is an asset.
  • Own tools and valid driver’s license.
  • Must have access to a vehicle as we are not located on a bus route.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Attention to detail.
