Team Overview and Job:As a Human Resources Generalist, you will be an integral part of the HR team. Reporting to the Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for supporting various human resource functions such as recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training, and policy implementation. The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive understanding of Ontario’s employment laws and regulations and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, ensuring a productive and compliant workplace environment. Key Responsibilities:Recruitment & Onboarding 
  • Working with the Talent Acquisition team to support the recruitment process including screening and coordination of on-site interviews. 
  • Support and coordinate recruitment activities and fairs. 
  • Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new employees, ensuring understanding of company policies and procedures.  

Employee Relations:
  • Provide guidance to employees regarding policy matters.  
  • Promote positive workplace culture and ensure employee engagement. 
  • Support and coordinate employee and community events.  
  • Manage service awards and other recognition programs.  
  • Manage internal communications.  

Compliance & Policy Implementation: 
  • Ensure compliance with Ontario employment laws, including the Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, and Occupational Health and Safety Act. 
  • Support investigations and disciplinary processes when required. 

Performance Management:
 
  • Assist in the administration of performance reviews and employee evaluations. 
  • Monitor employee development, promoting training and career advancement opportunities. 

HR Administration & Reporting: 
  • Maintain employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.  
  • Assist with payroll, benefits administration, and leave management. 
  • Support absenteeism reporting and STD/LTD case management process.  
  • Prepare and analyze HR reports, providing insights to support strategic decision-making.  

Training & Development: 
  • Coordinate employee training programs and workshops. 
  • Assist in developing career development plans and succession strategies. 
  • Foster continuous learning and professional growth within the organization. 
  • Perform other HR duties in a manufacturing plant environment related to staffing, employee relations, policy implementation, problem resolution and change management. 
 Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 
  • 2+ years of experience in human resources preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario employment legislation (ESA, Human Rights Code, OHSA). 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with discretion. 
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office; ideally experience with ADP and / or Workday. 

Working Conditions:
  • Work onsite at the Plant 
  • Occasional travel to company sites within Ontario and Quebec may be required.
