Summary:If you value ethics, love finding creative solutions, and have a passion for compliance, then this is the job for you Reporting to the Operations Manager, the ideal candidate will be responsible for the efficient supervision of production and manufacturing processes. The Production Supervisor will ensure all production processes are completed in a timely manner with quality of product and documentation in mind. This role requires the knowledge and ability to work collaboratively with other departments. The Production Supervisor is also responsible for coaching and development of the production teams.

Job Duties:
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to implement production plan and coordinate production and manufacturing activities
  • Supervise multiple simultaneous production processes
  • Ability to prioritize and organize production requirements and internal/external customer needs
  • Monitor, verify, and validate product dry down
  • Maintain employee schedules for each production process and achieve forecasted deliverables in the expected timeframe
  • Verify paperwork and data entry to ensure ERP is maintained and accurate in accordance with inventory management processes and Health Canada requirements
  • Troubleshooting automated systems for packaging and storage, including monitoring of overall equipment efficiencies and implementing solutions as needed
  • Completion of time audits and quality audits to ensure product expectations are being met
  • Collaborate with other departments to build process efficiencies and ensure the highest quality product
  • Training and employee development (coaching, performance improvement plans, etc.)
  • Develop processes, SOPs, Work Instructions, and other training tools
  • Continuously place importance in the organizational goals and visions in relation to:
    • Safety and security of employees and product
    • Compliance to all policies, regulations, and laws set forth by Health Canada. 
    • Quality of product and packaging. 
    • Cultivation of leadership values and support of production personnel
  • Work on the production floor to coordinate and monitor production, identify, elevate, and resolves production delays, and oversee other production related issues.
  • Implement short-term projects and continuous improvement processes as directed by the Operations Manager to achieve operational excellence and to meet internal or external customer expectations.
  • Serve as a leader that is hands on within the organization. 
  • Lead the production team in building a positive work environment.
  • Ensure that all team members are working accurately and efficiently according to the SOPs.
  • Any other duties as required. 
 Requirement:
  • Post-Secondary Education (and/or equivalent industry experience)
  • Physical ability to lift up to 30lb.  
  • Forklift experience is an asset.
  • Thorough knowledge and experience in production in a supervisory role. 
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft excel, Microsoft word, etc.
  • Experience utilizing an Enterprise Resource Planning program
  • Able to support extended hours and weekend work at short notice as required.
  • Understanding and experience of product dry down (cannabis preferred, other crops applicable)
  • Experience within a consumer-packaged goods company and/or the cannabis production industry
