Description

Located out of our Calgary office, the Senior Accountant – Marketing Accounting will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing Accounting. The successful candidate will be responsible for accounting, invoicing, analysis and reporting within the Marketing Accounting team.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree - Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
• CPA designation required

Experience:
• 6-10 years of previous experience in a similar role/industry

Skills:
• Knowledge and experience in accounting under IFRS
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and accuracy
• Ability to manage internal and external relationships with well-developed interpersonal, team, presentation and communication skills
• Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Experience related to complex intercompany transactions an asset
• Prior team lead or mentor experience an asset

Key Activities and Responsibilities:
• Review monthly, quarterly, and yearly income statement business unit analysis and reporting requirements
• Review invoices and supporting files completed by accountants
• Review of month-end journal entries and supporting files completed by accountants
• Ensure proper review and sign-off of key controls for SOX compliance
• Prepare accrual to actual analyses
• Present monthly financial results to business leaders
• Provide oversight, guidance, and training to accountants
• Advise on appropriate accounting treatment for new business transactions and contracts
• Lead Marketing business process improvements and projects as required
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and internal reporting as required

Hours:
Monday-Friday, full time, 40 hours per week

Employment of a final candidate will be conditional upon completion of employment verification with satisfactory results.
