Frontier Collegiate offers a full range of Grade 9 to Grade 12 course offerings for approximately 250 students. Cranberry Portage is a scenic cottage country community of about 1,000 people located 50 km south of Flin Flon. Community services include a gas station, health centre with ambulance service, community recreation centre and arena and regular air service (Flin Flon & The Pas).Working in collaboration with the classroom teacher, the Literacy Support Teacher provides the following services:Programming support and developmentClassroom supportIndividualized and small group instructionAssessmentsQualifications:Bachelor of Education Degree and Valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for)Current knowledge of effective literacy instruction and assessment practicesExperience providing, creating and implementing individualized programming for At Risk students and students with special needsKnowledge and experience with balanced literacy, guided Reading, Fountas and PinnellStrong planning and communication skillsA strong background in language developmentKnowledge and implementation of cooperative learning/small group instructionThe ability to work alongside teachers, colleagues and contribute collaboratively as a team memberCertification as a trained Reading Recovery teacher would be considered an asset.Applicants are required to submit the following:cover lettercurrent resumelist ofthree professional references including email addresses and contact numbers, all of whommust have knowledge of the applicants performance in the applicantscurrent or recent assignmentThank you for your interest; however, only applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.By applying, you consent to the Division contacting your references.
