We have a brilliant new opportunity for a Product Owner to join our Hive team. At Hive we are at the forefront of helping customers manage their energy use through the delivery of a range of products and services including EV Chargers, Air Source Heat Pumps, Solar and Battery systems and the application of advanced Energy Management technologies like Demand Side Response (DSR).

You will be joining our EV Charger, Solar and Battery team to drive growth and efficiencies across the product portfolio as we transition our customers to a Net Zero future. You’ll become a core part of the team, leading on one of the product lines within the portfolio by focusing on building, delivering, and maintaining our market leading sales & installation capabilities, alongside working with other product owners and analysts across Hive to deliver advanced connected capabilities for our EV chargers.

Location: With our Flexible First working arrangements we empower our colleagues to work in a way that best suits them – meaning location doesn’t need to be a barrier. This role can be mostly based at home with occasional meetings required at our Centrica sites.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage the definition and prioritisation of requirements, including maintaining the product roadmap and backlogs for your product.
  • Support the Senior Product Manager in managing and prioritising bug fixes and resolutions.
  • Work closely with the Senior Product Manager to identify opportunities, customer needs and use-cases for product development.
  • Continuously seek customer feedback, and champion action plans to resolve pain points to maintain a market leading NPS for Hive products.
  • Take responsibility for the overall performance of the products you’re supporting on, with a focus on continuous service improvement and iteration.
  • Lead project delivery with support from a matrix delivery team to maintain and improve on a high-quality product ensuring outstanding customer experience from trials to full implementation.
  • Represent the product throughout the organisation, keeping teams informed of progress and identifying new opportunities to deliver value to customers, colleagues, and business units.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the wider market, including competitor activity, and how our solutions compare.
  • Share best practice in product management and project delivery across the teams.
  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders from across the wider organisation.
  • Cultivate an environment of diversity, transparency, and trust, where your squad feel empowered to share ideas, be challenged and fulfil their potential.

Who are we looking for?

  • Demonstrable experience as a Product Owner
  • Excellent communication skills: whether it’s explaining complex technical architecture or articulating the benefits of the product to different stakeholders, you adapt your message to fit the audience and keep it simple wherever possible.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills: you take time to understand the issue(s) and enjoy finding different solutions that make use of the available tools.
  • Data-driven: you are passionate about using data to support your analysis and decision-making.
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams across large, complex organisations is a plus.
  • Strong technical skills with either mobile app, platform development, or Salesforce application experience: hardware experience is a plus.
  • Significant experience of defining user stories, requirements, and acceptance criteria to define and scope new product features.
  • Significant experience of product backlog management and feature / ticket prioritisation
  • A genuine enthusiasm for Net Zero, problem solving and product development.
  • Experience of working in agile project delivery teams.
  • Collaboration, working across multiple teams with shared objectives to deliver benefits for customers and the business.
