This is your opportunity to join Flatiron, an industry-leading organization at the forefront of developing innovative solutions to build critical infrastructure projects. As a Construction Engineer in our growing Canadian Division, you will design and analyze temporary works designs for construction projects while ensuring constructability with contract documents, specifications and regulatory requirements.
What you will be doing- Provides constructability and technical design input on temporary works construction designs to ensure compliance with contract specifications and regulatory requirements.
- Designs and drafts construction methods for temporary works (falsework, shoring, temporary bridges, formwork, slopes, etc.), ensuring completeness and accuracy with regulatory standards and within the contract specifications.
- Reviews personal and peer design elements to optimize project constructability, cost effectiveness and material quantities.
- Submits designs for peer review or approval review in an accurate and timely manner to avoid construction delays on the project site. Senior engineer or manager to seal designs following approval review.
- Maintains knowledge of Flatiron’s company values and strategic plan.
- Support published corporate policies.
- Perform additional assignments per management’s direction.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Structural or related Engineering field required.
- Professional Engineer (PE or PENG) required.
- Knowledge and skill in technical writing for clear and efficient communication and understanding.
- Knowledge and understanding of constructability and construction practices.
- Ability to multi-task and self-prioritize work.
- Verbal, written and interpersonal skills required.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, RISA, LARSA and MathCAD are a plus.
