Building Services Engineer (Electrical Systems, North America)

Job Overview

The job of our MEP Engineer is a crucial part of our product offering; delivering the most advanced work environments for our clients. We are looking for a MEP Engineer with 5+ years of experience who is skilled and experienced in all areas of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing, design & BIM Coordination. You will have a diverse background and be ready to lead internal and external project teams in all MEP Engineering related services through the entire project life-cycle. You will take special consideration, guiding our design-build teams through design intent to preserve the design quality of a project, mitigating potential later issues during construction. As our Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for day-to-day management of the engineering related project elements and will be responsible to manage several projects at different stages at the same time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead internal and external project teams in all MEP related services of Consultancy and design-build workplace projects (interior fit out)
  • Work with clients and project teams to define project scope, scheduling, budgeting, construction costs and BIM Coordination.
  • Manage the Building engineering services, sub-trade subcontractors and technical personnel to ensure design, costing, timing and quality are in line with project requirements
  • Review of Design documents like DBR, Scheme tender documents, GFC provided by the external consultant.
  • Assist PM and procurement team for technical and commercial evaluation, Value engineering solutions during bidding process.
  • Coordination with architects and other external consultant for MEP services coordination.
  • Day-to-day management of the engineering related project elements
  • Inspect and supervise various MEP disciplines during construction and provide solutions to overcome site problems
  • Check develop concept MEP design and oversee development of detailed design documentation
  • Conduct T&C procedures and write T&C plans
  • Work with Client Relationship / Business Development teams on new and existing client engagements.
  • Partner with internal teams to develop and pitch new project proposals that win new work

Job Requirements

  • 5+ yearsof work experience specializing in various Engineering services within the building design and construction field.
  • Experienced in a various Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing disciplines, Design & BIM Coordination
  • Familiar with all relevant codes and standards.
  • University Degree in Building Services Engineering or related field (Electrical and Mechanical).
  • Experience in Managerial or Supervisory position
  • Experience inspecting and supervising various MEP disciplines during construction and provide solutions to overcome site problems
  • Coordinating & reviewing MEP Design BOQ and documentation with third party consultants, vendors (internal & external stakeholders)
  • Able to conduct a T&C procedure and write T&C plan
