Senior Platform Engineer

Our client builds leading-edge Enterprise Asset Management software to help some of the world’s largest organizations manage millions of fleet and fixed assets in over fifty countries. They enable customers to mine mission-critical data to optimize the maintenance of their assets.
They are seeking a dynamic and skilled individual to join their team as a Sr. Platform Engineer. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining and enhancing their infrastructure and platform in Microsoft Azure. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of their systems, while continuously innovating to improve platform performance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:- Infrastructure and Platform Management: Maintain and support our Azure infrastructure, encompassing AKS nodes, virtual machines, SQL databases, networks, and storage, ensuring seamless operations and timely updates or patches to maintain security and compliance.
- Automation: Develop and implement automation scripts and tools, leveraging technologies such as Terraform, Python, PowerShell, and more, to streamline deployment, patching, and maintenance tasks.
- Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Proactively monitor and troubleshoot system issues, guaranteeing high availability and optimal performance. Utilize tools like Azure Monitor, Grafana, Prometheus, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- CI/CD Integration: Work proficiently with Azure DevOps Pipelines and other CI/CD tools to efficiently deploy, update, and manage our applications and services.
- Kubernetes Mastery: Manage and optimize our Azure Kubernetes clusters, ensuring peak performance, security, and timely updates. Implement strategies for smooth upgrades and patching of the platform.
- Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities to innovate and improve the platform’s performance, security, and scalability. Continuously research and implement new technologies or processes to enhance the platform.
- Collaboration and Initiative: Collaborate effectively with the development and DevOps teams to ensure platform alignment with industry standards. Proactively address platform needs, and lead initiatives for improvement and innovation without waiting for assignment.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation and runbooks for our infrastructure, automation processes, and platform changes.
- Client and Vendor Communication: Confidently communicate and collaborate with third-party vendors and customers when required, gathering feedback and fostering relationships to ensure platform success.

- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in Azure infrastructure and platform support.
- Hybrid Cloud Proficiency: Experience with hybrid cloud environments.
- Security / Identity Management: Experience with network security, policies, and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure Active Directory).
- Databases: Skills in Azure Blob storage and Azure databases, including Azure SQL Database/Server, Azure PostgreSQL, etc.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong skills in Terraform, Kubernetes, Python, PowerShell, and CI/CD Platforms such as Azure DevOps Pipelines, GitHub Actions, or Jenkins.
- Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring and troubleshooting tools, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights.
- Networking and Security: Strong understanding of networking and security principles in Azure.
- DevOps Exposure: Experience in a DevOps environment is a plus.
- Certification: Azure certification demonstrating proficiency.
- Kafka Experience: Previous experience with Kafka.
- AI/ML Platforms: Familiarity with AI/ML platforms.
- Multi-Cloud Expertise: Experience in other cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Rackspace.
