Digital Six is looking for an experienced individual to fill a Senior UX/UI Designer role on project-based and client-facing service engagements. Specifically, qualified candidates should possess experience, knowledge and skills that allow them to execute on the following responsibilities:

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Minimum 5+ years of UX/UI design experience
  • Extraordinary portfolio of shipped work demonstrating impactful UX design leadership and exemplary understanding of user-centered design principles
  • Experience developing UX across different types of devices and screen sizes.
  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as wire-framing (Azure, Figma, Sketch) and graphic design (Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and sitemaps
  • Demonstrated experience and understanding of user-centered design, user testing methodologies, usability, and accessibility standards and practices (WCAG 2.0, 2.1)
  • Fluency in information architecture
  • Experience designing large-scale systems and applications
  • Experience working in a collaborative team, partnering closely with key stakeholders to define use cases and requirements, and working directly with developers on implementation of your designs.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments
  • Experience working in public sector would be considered an asset
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills including presentation, teaching, and coaching
  • A service-oriented attitude is essential
  • Willingness to travel as required

Specifically, qualified candidates should possess experience, knowledge and skills that allow them to execute on the following responsibilities::

  • Deliver a bold vision and iterate quickly on concepts to arrive at an amazing customer experience
  • Think critically about user experiences and be able to put yourself in a user’s shoes.
  • Create personas, user journeys and storyboards to support research and understanding.
  • Work closely with the Product team as well as Engineers in creating concepts, designing and building experiences and software products.
  • Define information and UI architectures, developing conceptual diagrams, wireframes, low fidelity prototypes and visual design for the screen.
  • Actively participate in product development sprints, design workshops and brainstorming sessions.
