Behaviour Interactive is partnering with Haenir Studio to develop and publish their hotly anticipated debut IP, Blight: Survival . The game takes place in the no man’s land between two desperate kingdoms locked in a ceaseless war. Within this realm of death and decay, a new strain of Blight has erupted from the remains of the fallen. Fed and strengthened by the blood that’s been spilled, it rapidly spreads – turning man into monster.

The Technical Art Director manages and oversees the art production process. You will work constantly with the Artistic Director, the lead artist, the artists, and the other directors on the project. Your expertise and advice will guide the decisions that will drive visual quality in our games.

You will be responsible for providing a motivating technical environment to your artists, adjusting the production process to achieve quality targets, and sharing and encouraging best practices within your business unit.

In this role, you will :
  • Understand a project art direction and oversee its development within the current production process ;
  • Define the technical constraints of art production in the project by automating tasks and improve processes to simplify production ;
  • Suggest and guide the development of best practices, solutions, and tools ;
  • Promote the reuse of resources, know-how, and tools ;
  • Do a technological survey and constantly push the edge of technology ;
  • Foster good communicationwith the creative and technical teams by assessing the impact of rendering methods on performance ;
  • Help assess costs associated with art production.
What we're looking for :
  • 12 years of experience in 3D modeling, texturing, lightning and special effects for video games, at least 5 in technical positions ;
  • Knowledge of Python (CG and HLSL an asset) and advanced experience with Maya and Substance (Blender an asset) ;
  • Strong mandotory production experience with Unreal including Blueprints ;
  • Understanding of the rendering process in different platforms and strong ability to manage priorities ;
  • You are comfortable communicating and drafting documents in French and English (the vast majority of contracts are in English).

  • Comprendre la vision artistique d’un projet et déterminer son développement l’intérieur du processus de production actuel ;

  • Proposer et encadrer le développement de meilleures pratiques, de solutions et d’outils;
  • Promouvoir la réutilisation des ressources, du savoir-faire et des outils;
  • Effectuer une veille technologique et repousser constamment les limites de la technologie;
  • Établir une solide communication avec les équipes créatives et techniques tout en évaluant l’impact des méthodes sur la performance;
  • Aider à évaluer et maintenir les coûts de production artistique afin de respecter les budgets.
Ce que nous recherchons :
  • Douze ans d'expérience en modélisation 3D, textures, éclairages et/ou effets spéciaux en production de jeux vidéos, dont cinq dans un poste technique ;
  • Compréhension des langages Python (CG et HLSL un atout) et des logiciels Maya et Substance (Blender un atout);
  • Forte expérience de production avec Unreal est obligatoire incluant l'utilisation de Blueprint s ;
  • Comprendre le processus de rendu de différentes plateformes et capacité à gérer les priorités ;
  • Vous êtes à l'aise de communiquer et rédiger des documents en français et en anglais (la majorité des contrats étant en anglais).

Behaviour Interactive s'associe à Haenir Studio pour développer et publier leur premier jeu très attendu, Blight : Survival . Le jeu se déroule dans le no man's land entre deux royaumes désespérés enfermés dans une guerre incessante. Dans ce royaume de mort et de décomposition, une nouvelle souche de Blight a surgi des restes de ceux qui sont tombés au combat. Nourrie et renforcée par le sang versé, elle se propage rapidement, transformant l'homme en monstre.

Le·la Directeur·rice Technique Artistique est celui·celle qui gère et dirige les processus de production artistique. Dans ce poste, vous collaborerez constamment avec la direction artistique, le·la chef·fe artiste, les autres directeur·rice·s du projet ainsi que les artistes. Votre expertise et vos conseils guideront les décisions qui permettront d’obtenir la qualité visuelle requise par le jeu.

Vous aurez la responsabilité d’offrir aux artistes un encadrement technique motivant, d’ajuster le processus de production pour atteindre les cibles de qualité, de partager et encourager les meilleures pratiques au sein de votre division d’affaires.
