Summary:

The Piping Engineering Team Lead plans and directs all aspects of Piping Engineering activities within the department. Ensures all Piping Engineering projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization’s established objectives. Oversees the Piping Engineering team across our global offices, including Canada, Australia, USA, and India.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and oversee a team of piping, stress, pipeline, and materials engineers.
  2. Ensure the quality and accuracy of Piping Engineering deliverables.
  3. Hire, train, and mentor engineers and supporting staff.
  4. Generate engineering hour estimates, resource loading, and forecasting.
  5. Ensure effective use of global workshare to meet corporate requirements.
  6. Assist in leading and execution of project deliverables.
  7. Develop, maintain, and monitor Piping Engineering procedures and standards.
  8. Liaise with Piping, Mechanical, Supply Chain, and Project Management.
  9. Review and manage Client requirements and expectations.
  10. Develop, manage, and implement project specifications.
  11. Assist upper management in short/term planning and business strategies.
  12. Coordinate staff performance reviews and training.
  13. Demonstrate commitment to the Health and Safety program.
  14. Assist with business development and client relationships.
  15. Industry networking and contacts.
Key Skills:

Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership, mentorship, and supervisory skills. Experience in managing multi-discipline teams, including global workshare. Effectively resolve interdisciplinary issues or concerns that arise within a team environment. Broad exposure to natural gas, conventional oil, and heavy oil facility design and construction. Must be familiar with ABSA, regulatory and code requirements, including CSA, ASME, and API Piping Engineering and Stress Analysis. Knowledge of Materials and Supply Chain. Knowledge of Pipeline Engineering and Welding.

Education and Qualifications:

Successful candidate will be Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) within the province of Alberta. Mechanical Engineering degree. Minimum 15+ years of oil and gas experience (with EPCM background).
