Mission and Vision

VDAM is led by an experienced investment management team. We are uniquely focused on digital asset investment strategies in separately managed accounts and are building private funds to leverage our expertise. The team comes from a background of institutional trading and has traded over $1 billion of assets including bitcoin, ether and other digital assets. Our strategy strongly outperformed bitcoin in 2023.

Position Overview

As an Investment Management Associate, you will play a crucial role in our leading digital asset management firm, working across research, investment, trading, and operations functions. You'll collaborate closely with portfolio managers, traders, and operations teams, conducting quantitative analysis, market research, and supporting day-to-day operations. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of digital asset management, combining traditional financial expertise with cutting-edge technology and market analysis.

Key Responsibilities

Research and Trading

  • Assist in investing and trading cryptocurrencies and derivatives, including options and futures.
  • Develop and implement hedging models for various instruments, including volatility, total return swaps, and OTC options.
  • Analyze large-scale datasets to identify trading signals and improve investment strategies.
  • Monitor cryptocurrency spot and derivative markets using APIs and automation tools.
  • Calculate profit and loss, perform valuations, and review trade capture for accuracy.

Operations

  • Track fund performance by monitoring NAV and comparing against market levels.
  • Reconcile daily fund activities, including cash, trades, settlements, and investor transactions.
  • Ensure accuracy of fund NAV, resolve accounting issues, and process investor-related transactions.
  • Manage external service providers including sourcing, evaluating, and managing various outsourced resources such as executing brokers, custodians, administrators, and other outsourced resources.
  • Provide internal support for responses to regulators and preparation of legal documentation.
  • Support the launch of new financial products.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, finance, computer science, mathematics, engineering, or related quantitative field.
  • 3+ years of experience in fund administration, quantitative futures/options pricing/trading.
  • Strong understanding of capital markets and financial instruments.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Experience with APIs.
  • Knowledge of backtesting investment strategies and applying data mining algorithms.
  • Awareness of LLMs, CoPilot, LMStudio, Autogen, CrewAI.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Familiarity with cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology (Bitcoin, Ethereum) is highly valued.
