  • Innovate, develop, evaluate, and test products and solutions for Saint-Gobain's R&D division.
  • Help to reduce RMP by aligning formulas and systems and assisting with their implementation in collaboration with the purchasing and industrial teams.
  • Evaluate and test new and existing raw materials in formulations to improve performance, cost, and strategy alignment.
  • Carry samples (maximum 5L - minimum 500ml) and panels for testing.
  • Collaborate with functional departments, as and when required.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures of R&D follow the quality management system.
Is this job for you?

The ideal candidate will have at least three to five years of relevant experience in an R&D setting, ideally in the coating and construction industries, and a Diploma in Chemistry/Chemical/Material Sciences or a Degree in Engineering is preferred. This position requires a team player who is organized, devoted, honest, trustworthy, pays attention to detail, can multitask, is a quick learner, has excellent interpersonal skills, and is computer savvy. Familiarity with Organic and Inorganic Chemical Materials, Formulating, Marketing, and Operational Solutions, Basic Chemical Laboratory Equipment, ISO 14001 and ISO 9001, EHS Practices, Autonomy, Discipline/Commitment, Adaptability to a Multicultural Environment, Capability to Analyze and Synthesize, Business and Technical Report Writing, and Communication is essential. The candidate must also be able to troubleshoot, conduct trial batches in plant, and improve and optimize R&D processes.

As an R&D Technician, you will be responsible for project management, multitasking, and working on multiple projects simultaneously. You will be familiar with the NPD process, involved in R&D processes and methodologies, and able to update reports and documentation as needed. Responsibilities include testing existing and new products, evaluating competitors' products, and using and testing various raw materials to produce new products and solutions. The ideal applicant should ensure that new and existing goods are free of EHS and purchasing risks, manage and order consumables required for R&D testing, and maintain equipment in good working order and calibrated as needed.
