The Program Director will be responsible for the overall planning, management, and execution of our school year before and after school program and summer camp at the YMCA KIPP DC Wheeler Campus. This role includes curriculum development and delivery, hiring and developing staff, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and fostering positive relationships with children, parents, and the community.
Exciting Responsibilities You'll Have as the Program Director:
- Develop, plan, and implement innovative before and after school time and camp programs that meet the needs and interests of children.
- Ensure all children receive enriching educational programming with a focus on positive experiences and child outcomes.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate program staff.
- Ensure all programs comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including health and safety standards.
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with participants, parents, and community partners.
- Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and implement improvements as necessary.
- Manage program enrollment and maintain accurate records and reports.
- Handle all issues in a fair and consistent manner.
Qualifications and Skills:
We seek a leader with values that align with the Y’s mission:
- Bachelor’s degree in child-related field
- 3 years of relevant experience in a licensed child care center
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Understanding of budget development and revenue/expense management
