Quality System Certification Program Auditor (Safety Codes Officer) – Calgary Region

ABSA is seeking potential candidates to join a technical team of Auditors at our Calgary location. ABSA seeks individuals who are passionately engaged in quality control, safety codes and regulations, willing to invest time into their career and value a respectful workplace.

ABSA operates in a technically complex industry and invests in professionals willing to develop their career to the top of the industry. The initial training would involve attaining a National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Commission, Safety Codes Officer certification and other internal qualifications.

As an Auditor you will interact directly with a variety of pressure equipment fabricators in industry reviewing and auditing various quality management systems.

You will use your expertise to conduct quality management system audits of:

  • Organizations who fabricate, repair or alter of pressure piping
  • Organizations who fabricate, repair or alter pressure fittings
  • Organizations who set and service safety relief devices
  • Organizations who requalify pressure welders
  • Organizations who conduct integrity assessments of pressure equipment
  • Owners of pressure equipment who manage the integrity of their pressure equipment
  • Organizations who set and service safety relief devices

Must have achieved one of the following:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical, Materials (Metallurgical) Engineering or another related engineering Discipline from a recognized university OR
  • 1st Class or 2nd Class Power Engineers Certificate of Competency OR
  • Graduate of a two-year full time program from a recognized institution in Mechanical, Materials or Welding Engineering Technology.

Additional requirements:

  • Minimum 3-5 years of industry experience in quality control
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001-2015
  • Working knowledge of ABSA’s AB-513 and AB-518 documents
  • Working knowledge of quality management systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • A valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
  • Technology savvy – able to set up and sign electronic documents
