Position Summary:Parkwood Seniors Community is recruiting a dynamic, enthusiastic individual to join our team The Cook position helps perform dietary and food service routines which ensure residents consistently have high quality, delicious food for every meal.
Reports to:Director Food Services
Assets and Qualifications:- Cook’s papers or in process of completing within 3 years of start date
- Minimum Requirements: Food Service Worker Certificate or in process of completing within 3 years of start date
- Full vaccination status is required – 3 doses
- Previous experience in cooking in a LTC facility is an asset
- Understanding of HACCP
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Completes preparation and production of food items according to production sheets
- Order, receive and store food supplies as assigned
- Follow Ministry of Health guidelines for safe food handling and infection prevention and control procedures
- Keep work area clean and tidy
- Report any immediate or potential hazards to the department director
- Wash pots, pans and/or dishes as assigned
- Make decisions and give direction to Food Service Workers in the absence of the Director Food Services
Shift type: CasualHours: 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and 10:00 a.m. to 6 p.m.- (weekdays/weekends/holidays)Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
- Monday to Friday
- On call
- Overtime
- Weekend availability
Ability to provide effective service in French (proficient in conversational French for activities of daily living) is considered an asset.
