We are looking for an experiencedDirector of Financeto work with FreeBalance Management to help oversee the financial operations of the business. Key responsibilities will include managing the global treasury and taxation requirements of the organization. We are looking for strategic thinkers and an effective leader who can make profitable decisions. This individual will work closely with the Chief Financial Officer and Controller to ensure that the goals of the company are properly aligned.
The ideal individual will have experience in financial leadership, strong budgetary control skills with a track record of successful financial planning and analysis. They will take a proactive and hands-on approach to financial management. Excellent communication and presentation skills are critical.
This is a full-time position based in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
Responsibilities:- Treasury management
- Revenue and cost management
- Financial planning and forecasting
- Coordinate the preparation of annual budgets
- Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
- Track key performance indicators
- Produce accurate financial and cashflow forecasts
- Ensure adherence to financial laws and guidelines
- Implement and improve effective methods for the management of expense controls to support the achievement of financial objectives.
- Monitor/participate in approvals of expenditures against budgets for key expense areas and identify deviations from budgets early in the cycle.
- Minimum University degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- Financial Designation such as CPA or equivalent is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years advanced accounting, preferably in software industry.
- Minimum 2 years of controller / senior accounting position with evidence of leadership over financial reconciliation and statement production.
- Tax knowledge in one or multiple countries is considered an asset.
- Highly motivated person, with strong analytical skills with multi-tasking abilities.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- Experience with a variety of ERP financial systems.
